Benefits of a Raw Diet

 

The fascination of the raw food diet continues as the health food trends continue to grow around the world. The belief of raw food dieting comes from the understanding that uncooked food holds the natural enzymes that are particularly important to our physical health.  Cooking food will denature these enzymes that help the body digest and absorb nutrients. When people over consume cooked food our bodies begin to over work themselves in order to produce the enzymes lost in the heat of cooking. Some include only 30% of the partially cooked food while many people, such as vegans, only eat all raw products, such as raw milk, cheese, and grains. Different preparation techniques are used for vegetables, nuts, and even seeds. These can include anything from soaking nuts in water to induce germination to blending different veggies into a smoother form to make shakes, soup, or hummus.

 

There are so many health benefits to eating an all natural diet. Some of these benefits can include anything from increased energy and clearer skin to reduction in the risk of disease, like cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. The nutritional benefit allows the body to function better due to the increase in health promoting antioxidants, fiber, and folate while simultaneously decreasing the amount of sugars, fat, and sodium.

 

All raw detox and cleansing processes are becoming overwhelmingly popular. Lasting anywhere from 3 to 21 days many people participating can feel the difference automatically and continue with the diet for a lifetime!
